The purpose of the CTF's National Debt Clock Tour is to raise awareness -- to both taxpayers and politicians -- of growing government debt. The federal debt is increasing $1,400 a second. Politicians who saw the clock in action were stunned by how rapidly federal debt is increasing. Many were simply unaware of extent of the problem graphically displayed by the National Debt Clock.
